Promoting dialysis access through educational and research activities.
A peer-reviewed journal published six times a year, reporting clinical and laboratory studies in the field of vascular access.
The Vascular Access Society of the Americas (VASA) is a multidisciplinary professional organization dedicated to advancing the care of patients who require vascular access, particularly for dialysis. Founded in 2004, VASA brings together a diverse group of healthcare professionals—including vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, nephrologists, and nurses—who share a commitment to improving outcomes for patients through education, research, and clinical excellence.
Central to VASA’s mission is the promotion of best practices in vascular access through a variety of initiatives. The organization hosts an annual scientific meeting that features cutting-edge research, hands-on workshops, and expert-led sessions focused on innovation and clinical improvement. Additionally, VASA provides continuing medical education (CME) opportunities and supports ongoing research that contributes to evidence-based practices in the field.
On behalf of the Vascular Access Society of the Americas, we were pleased to host your participation in the Vascular Access Society of the Americas’ Hands-On Practicum on Hemodialysis Access, which took place on May 16–17, 2025, at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.
The Journal of Vascular Access is a respected, peer-reviewed medical journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in the specialized field of vascular access. Published six times annually, it serves as a vital resource for clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals who are involved in the care and management of patients requiring vascular access for therapies such as hemodialysis, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
